NYC

We went to New York City on Sunday and Monday...we didn't stay long on Monday since it was raining and everything on our list of things we wanted to see were outside. But Sunday was beautiful and sunny though a little cold.

We took the train into Grand Central Station and then walked down 5th Avenue to Central Park. We got to see the window displays at Saks and the huge tree and ice rink at Rockefeller Plaza. Unfortunately, it wasn't lit yet (I think that happens on Wednesday). Hannah enjoyed the playgrounds and zoo at Central Park and enjoyed all of the pidgeons and horses as well. We saw CBS, NBC, HBO, MTV, etc and went down to Times Square at night. We also made a trip thru the giant toysrus and of course FAO Schwartz. Dinner was at a great Cuban place - the food was great (Hannah of course loved the black beans and rice) but I was a little disappointed not to get to try a mojito...people were drinking them by the pitcher - yum! We also passed Radio City Music Hall numerous times and thought about Laura - wishing we could have seen her do the Rockettes show in NYC. Next year I want to take Hannah to see it! It was sad to be in the theatre disctrict and think of the blackout on Broadway...hopefully there is some conclusion soon. There was so much more to see and do but we are close enough that we can go again sometime soon.
