latest home project

While I wait for the Christmas morning photos to download to the computer...

We have spent the last few days on a new project. We are finally tearing down the wallpaper in the toy room/hot room/family room. (It started as the toy room...the Prescott's named it the hot room because our pellet stove is in there cranking out the heat and now that it is the warmest room in our house and has carpet, it has become the room we spend all of our time in.) The wallpaper is down and we are cleaning the glue off of the walls. We have found that washing the wall with dawn soap and hot water followed by scraping with a plastic scraper cleans the glue right off. So Andy (and sometimes Hannah) woudl wash the wall down then I would scrape...andy would usually follow with a quick rinsing with a wet sponge. We picked out some neutral paint and will be painting sometime soon. We also painted the BURGUNDY trim...it has a couple coats of kilz primer and two coats of white paint. We have only done the trim around the windows and will most likely replace the floor trim. I fear white paint/primer on my carpet if we try to paint them. Burgundy is an awful color to paint trim.
